Meet the Team

Welcome to iGamingContent.co.uk

Our team has a unique history that gives us in depth knowledge of all areas of the iGaming industry. Get to know us a little better below.

Duncan Garvie

Duncan Garvie is one of two lead writers here at iGamingContent.co.uk.

He holds a degree in Pure Mathematics from Heriot Watt University and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from Edinburgh University. He has taught mathematics at secondary school level (age 11-18) for 4 years.

In the early 2000s Duncan developed a keen interest in Advantage Play and
taught himself to Card Count, alongside other more advanced strategies, at the game of Blackjack. He played both online and offline for a number of years. His offline play included participation with various groups who were
associated with the MIT Blackjack Team (both Amphibians and the Reptile
groupings) and who have been depicted in the books Bringing Down the House and Busting Vegas by Ben Mezrich and the film 21 starring Jim Sturgess.

Using funds that he had won playing, Duncan founded ThePOGG.com in 2011. ThePOGG.com provides reviews of online casinos, detailed analysis of casino games, alongside management of player complaints and earned a strong reputation within the industry for its stances on fair play. Under Duncan’s management, ThePOGG.com became the first and only affiliate based complaint management service to be approved as an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) service by any regulator – firstly the UKGC and subsequently the MGA – allowing it to provide legally binding rulings for the hundreds of iGaming operators that choose to use the service.

Duncan continues to serve as the ADR Official for ThePOGG.com, though responsibility for other aspects of the site have been passed to other team members. As of late 2022 Duncan has managed over 6.5k complaint cases and helped return over $7.5mil to players.

During his time with ThePOGG, Duncan has gained a wealth of experience tackling sensitive topics within the industry in a considered and mindful manner. He ensured that legal liabilities were always minimised whilst still allowing for full disclosure of relevant information. He is available to consult about higher risk publications where there is a need.

In 2017, Duncan founded the responsible gambling blocking software BetBlocker. In 2019 the service was broken off and established as a charity in its own right. Duncan continues to serve as the Managing Trustee for the charity which helps thousands of vulnerable players every day.

Duncan now manages iGamingContent.co.uk and iGaming-Consultant.com as he looks for new and exciting challenges to engage him within the remote gambling industry.

Duncan is happily married to Lisa Boyle and together they care for nine cats.

Lisa Boyle

Lisa Boyle is one of two lead content writers here at iGamingContent.co.uk.

She holds an MA (Hons) Degree in English Language and English Literature from Edinburgh University and a merit level Post Graduate Certificate in Education, also from Edinburgh University. She taught English at secondary school level (age 11-18) for 13 years, alongside working for the Scottish Qualifications Authority as a marker for their Higher English candidates.

Together with Duncan, in the mid-2000s, Lisa learned to count cards at Blackjack, alongside developing skills in several other advanced techniques. Lisa spent time travelling in the United States, playing with some offshoot groups led by people who had previously played with the MIT Blackjack Team. After several years of playing both on and offline, Lisa utilised her winnings to help Duncan establish ThePOGG.com.

Founded in 2011, ThePOGG.com became one of the leading voices in the online casino review space, providing honest and detailed assessments of the various businesses offering online casino services. Lisa was the lead content writer for ThePOGG for 7 years, managing the casino reviews, auditing casino operators to help them meet compliance requirements, and composing lengthy and detailed guides and articles to help players learn how to play online, ensuring that they stayed safe whilst doing so.

In 2019, when BetBlocker was registered as a charity, Lisa took on the responsibility of Trustee of the charity. She is closely involved in the operation of the charity and spearheaded the work to develop the Responsible Gambling Directory that was released in October 2022.

Lisa now manages iGamingContent.co.uk and iGaming-Consultant.com as she looks for new and exciting challenges in the remote gambling sector that will keep her ‘little grey cells’ active.

Lisa is a vintage fashion fanatic (mainly 20s- 40s) and an avid reader of anything to do with the Tudor period. She is mostly found wearing red lipstick – subsequently so is Duncan! She has shared her life with Duncan for 16 years and together they co-parent nine wonderful, crazy cats.
